Forgive me if this is a duplicate post, perhaps I could get pointed in the right direction.
I have a 396 and I live in Windsor. What is the best way for me to monitor The MSP and Border patrol. I can monitor Detroit fairly well on the 396t. Do I use the same freqs as the Detroit system and just enter the appropriate talk groups or do I have to enter a whole new set of freqs and which ones are they.

Thanks
Chris

Detroit is part of the MPSCS system, MSP and Boarder Patrol both use this system. The system is a smartzone system, so a tower will only carry a TG if there is a radio affiliated with that tower on that TG. Southeast MIchigan is zone 2 so all the towers are 2XX. Each tower is a different set of Freqs. At the bottom of the page for the MPSCS Database is a link to a map, MPSCS TOWER SITES, this map will show where the towers are located. I hear US Boarder Patrol on the Mt. Clemens Tower (210) in the summer when their working the boat crossing or the Richmond Tower when their working the train crossings. US Boarder Patrol traffic picks up when their watching all the boat traffic on the River and Lake. To hear the most traffic on MPSCS just see how many Towers you can get. I monitor 4 towers (Mt. Clemens, Romeo, Richmond, and Northville).

U.S. Border Patrol is also still very active (especially in the Detroit area) on:

163.6250 MHz
PL 131.8
APCO-25

Thanks for the reminder Bill I almost forgot about it. I checked the log and it had quite a few hits on that yesterday.
