Monmouth County Car gone silent

It appears that Allentown & Englishtown PD have made the change over to the new M/C 700 system on Christmas. The M/C Car channel 154.875/151.4 has been silent except for 2 calls out that went unanswered and the cars now have new 2" 1/4 wave antennas along with the 16" VHF antennas.
Anyone have any information?

Yes both are full-time users of the 700mhz trunked system and are operating on encrypted talkgroups like all of the "Law" TG's on the system. Some channels will be repurposed in the near future

Thank you Sheriff Golden for taking a lifetime of listening down the drain ! Another case of law enforcement paranoia. Monmouth County listening will be limited to FD & EMS in the future. Maybe Sean will encrypt that also.

County fire depts are staying put on VHF. They already voted the super duper 700 mhz system down. You might start seeing new VHF "FD association" repeaters and fire grounds starting to pop up. And maybe a new (non-county) fire dispatch center in the future.

It couldn't have gone completely silent since I haven't seen any Monmouth Beach Police units on the TRS. I know they are normally quiet anyways but they've still gotta be on County Car.

Monmouth Beach went off County Car over a year ago. I believe they went to the "East" county dispatch center.I don't know if 158.730 is valid for them.
County Car is dead silent since Christmas.

There never was an "East" county dispatch. You might mean "Southcom" which was closed a few months ago. Everything is now out of Freehold.

Well if MBPD did move, someone has to know to where/whom. I know years back, during the day they were usually pretty radio quiet since the ten-digit calls were answered inside HQ by their secretary and given out by her on their local channel but anything that went 9-1-1 to County was sent over County Car. I remember getting the phone call around 1600 hrs from the secretary telling us the phones were transferred out.

MBPD placed a repeater on their PD channel, I believe the 158 frequency. County now has access to this and dispatches them on such. They were tired of fighting with the western part of the county for air time.

Yes MBPD is being dispatched on their local channel. It was always a repeater. It was just tied in to so County can key it.

Allentown PD (82-XX) has continued to utilize County Car infrequently over the past week or so, most recently Saturday evening. An educated guess would be that there is connectivity issues way out West.

Allentown doesnt have mobiles installed yet so they might have just used county car that time but there is a tower out that way and Allen town should have no problem with coverage

If they don't utilize the antennas on the water tower, they'll work off the brand new tower at the County Highway Dept. yard on Rt.539 & Burlington Path Road in Upper Freehold.
