Recently, a contributor to this Web site, told us about a new Project 25 trunking system that was being constructed in Monmouth County. This is a multi-site simulcast system that when completed will cover the entire county. Does anyone know what the current build-out status of this system is? They are licensed by the FCC to use the following frequencies:

Here is a request for a time extension from last year. In this document submitted by the Monmouth County Sheriff's Department, they expect the system to come online this month, and commence full operations by late April. Therefore, unless some unforeseen factors delay this deployment, I would suspect that testing could begin at anytime.

I wonder what they're going to do now that congress ordered the return of the T-band spectrum (over the next 11 years) in their D-Block decision....

It'll be a (somewhat) brand new system that has to migrate somewhere else less than 10 years after it's placed in service.
