Hi all,

I have a submission that states that the Monroe County Fire Police is operating on 155.82 with a DPL of 054. However, the FCC is showing that this is licensed to the Laurelton Fire District.

Can anyone confirm who is using this frequency so we can get it added to the database?

Thanks!

Laurelton does hold the license but makes the frequency available for fire police use by any department that needs a channel for it.

If the frequency is going to be added to the Countywide Fire subcategory as Countywide Fire Police, then the listing for Laurelton Vol. Fire Dept. under Irondequoit needs to be deleted.

I think any fire police use of the frequency by other departments is an informal arrangement with Laurelton as described by NF2G. Does anyone have any official source that documents this use by other departments? I did not see any reference to that frequency in documents relating to the countywide fire narrow band conversion plan.

I was told last year by an Irondequoit volunteer that fire police were being abolished.

Irondequoit might be getting rid of theirs, but fire police generally are not being abolished.

I am the person who submitted the request to put the Fire Police frequency back on the County Channel line up. Everyone in the county uses that frequency for fire police and it is under the channel structure of the EOC in Monroe County. It is a county channel per the EOC. Every department in Monroe County utilizes it for Fire Police and is a very active channel during calls in the county, as firefighter in the county and a past dispatcher I can tell you that this is the fire police frequency for the county. Also, when the county distributed the new frequency guide after the narrowband switch over, the fire police frequency was listed as a county channel. I also have that proof if you need a copy of it in a DOC File I could send you in your email if you need it but it shows the same thing I am telling you. Here is a copy and past of the county channels per Monroe County. This is straight from Monroe County when they handed out the new Narrowband switch over paperwork.

Channel Name Frequency DPL

Fire 5 154.3100 506
Fire 4 154.1750 466
Fire 3 154.3850 365
Fire 2 154.2500 261
Fire 1 154.1300 131
EMS295 155.2950 265
EMS175 155.1750 172
EMS340 155.3400 CSQ
EMS280 155.2800 205
Fire 6 154.3400 606
Fire 9 155.8200 054
Fire 10 153.8300 114
