Monroe County/Key West

Anyone know much about what can and can't be heard in the Keys. Going down in a few weeks, not sure if Monroe County or Key West for that matter are trunked.

Presently, the Monroe County Sherriff's Dept. is on VHF and Fire/Rescue is on UHF. Soon, Sherriff's Dept. will go to Digital Trunked Motorola system, but " soon" can be an extended timeframe here.

I was in the Keys May 20-22 and saw the Monroe County Sheriffs using what apeared to be Motorola Astro portables w/ 800 MHz public safety mics. It looks like they've switched to the new system.

I didn't hear anything on the KWPD or MCSO UHF/VHF freqs.

Monroe County / Key West

Monroe County S.O. and the City of Key West share the same system Backbone. Look up under TRS then Monroe County for freq etc. The old VHF for MCSO and City PD are now DEAD
