What is the status of this system and when will it be up and running. Any information regarding this would be helpful. Thanks

The narrowband OPS frequencies have been allotted, are in service, and available for any of the Monroe County agencies to use. They are currently in use by some agencies.

The County fire and EMS channels (not necessarily the individual department channels) are currently scheduled for September 2006. (Note that this has been pushed back - the original date was January 1, 2006.)

The details for the narrowband transition, as well as the 900MHz paging system can be found within the minutes of the Monroe County Fire and EMS Communications Board, which are published on the Monroe County website.

The scanners you have don't have NFM (Narrow FM) but only have FM. You'll still be able to hear the channels but the audio will not be as good.

Thanks for the information, I have heard activity on 154.3175 which is linked to 154.310 Fire dispatch channel 5 and 154.3925 which is linked to 154.385 Fireground East.

You're hearing bleedover from 154.3100 MHz on 154.3175 MHz and bleedover from 154.3850 MHz on 154.3925 MHz. There's no link.
