Monroe County Question

Hi all, I'm new to this so bear with me. I just got a Pro 96 about a week ago. I've yet to hear anything to and from Erie and Luna Pier police. I'm getting everything else such as fire/rescue, sheriffs, state, etc. What am I not doing? Thank You, Howard

Part of the reason is the system is having problems. If you are outside of Monroe County you will be kinda limited on what you can hear. Those police departments that you speak of are dispatched by the sheriff. The actual Luna Pier talkgroup is a private takgroup that dispatch does not monitor.

I am in the Luna Pier area. Actually, the Monroe county reception hasn't been that bad. I just thought I would have heard some kind of traffic to Erie or Luna Pier by now. If Monroe County Sheriff does not monitor them, how or who do they receive dispatches from?

As I wrote above.....Luna Pier is dispatched by the sheriff's department on 2173. They just dont monitor the "private talkgroups"

You would also need to pay attention to the unit numbers that talk on the sheriff's dispatch frequency. Every police agency in this county is on the same talkgroup. When you hear units 542-546, that's Erie P.D. When you hear units 778-779, that's Luna Pier P.D. Hope that lessens the confusion!

Thanks for the responses. I'll listen for those. That may help. I still haven't heard anything for those areas, been almost 2 weeks.

You just gotta listen at the right times I guess! You do hear them on occasion though. Eric, if you would like a list of the car #'s, let me know!
