I live in Toledo, and barely pick up Monroe's CC with a outdoor antenna up 50' on a tower. I read in some posts that they were having trouble with some CC's. Is this affecting the one in Whiteford Twp as I think that is the closest tower to me.

thanks in advance to all....

I heard from a friend of mine that the tower in Whiteford has some issues that will be addressed in the near future. Moreover, this tower doesn't offer 360 degree, omni-directional coverage like all the other towers.

The Whiteford tower uses two dipole-type antennas that send the strongest transmit and receive patterns only to the north and east. The purpose of this move was to ensure that the tower would have little or no affect on the state of Ohio, since its so close to the border. While this is great for Monroe County, it tends to greatly diminish the signal strength areas to the south.

You may want to consider a high-gain, Yagi type of antenna and point it towards the north?

you have me thinking about this john what are you running for an antenna? i was watching the system on my 895 and 796d here in monre
county and the signals are a lot stronger on 460.175 than digtail.
im five miles from the tower on stien rd. and about the same from the 800mhz tower on dunbar rd.

thanks

I am using a "Channel Master "Scanner Antenna on my tower... it is similiar in construction to the Scantenna type...... I have noticed "some" improvement in reception here in Lucas County with both Monroe County and MPSCS. Don't know if it is coincidence since they are working on the system or not.......

My antenna on the tower is about 10 years old........

Take care,
john
