Monroe & West Monroe PD on LWIN

It appears Monroe PD has gone to LWIN, all the regular frequencies are dark. I think I have one TG for West Monroe PD (53055). Does anyone have any for Monroe PD and others for West Monroe?

Monroe PD LWIN?

Absolutely no evidence that Monroe PD has transitioned to LWIN. In that area today, and the VHF freqs. are hotter than a pistol. For that matter all EMS stuff is still VHF. West Monroe PD can't say, but doubtful they'll completely abandon VHF any time soon. Area just seems hopelessly tied to VHF, due mostly to Monroe PD.

Ouachita SO is active on LWIN at TG 53000, also got a hit on 53062, sounded like FD traffic. Sounds like the old 800mhz LTR system is being used mostly for corrections (work release) traffic. Other than SO and LSP, most listening in that area is still tilted toward VHF.

IF they are on LWIN, you will need a digital scanner.

Spent a little time in that area today and can confirm that Monroe PD and West Monroe PD are on LWIN exclusively (no simulcasts for either). Didn't have the time, or proper equipment, to fully analyze the situation. But this is the rundown:
Monroe PD Disp. 1 TG 53050, Monroe PD traffic enforcement TG 53052
Ouachita SO Disp 1 TG 53000, Disp 2 53001
West Monroe PD 53055??????
EMS Traffic on 53060 and 53062
Not going to submit these to database just yet, in hopes that someone in that area can do a little more research..............................

YUP, they've switched MPD Dispatch 53050; WMPD Dispatch 53055; 53052 Dispatch 500 units..sounds like Richwood PD??? 53053 Active...unknown.
No active VHF PDtraffic at all

I am tech challenged and wonder if my radio(trunking scanner Pro 97) is capable to get these new freq or do I need to purchase something else? If it is capable can someone maybe fire me a PM with step by step instructions for a knucklehead? lol Thanks in advance everyone!

You'll need a new or used radio that can pick up digital transmissions. The RS Pro 106 or 197 will do just fine, if you can find them. Otherwise, Uniden has a couple of models that will do just fine on the LWIN system.
