I've noticed recently that the Monroeville fire departments now have seperate, different tones for EMS calls from their usual fire ones. It also appears they're dispatching *all* of the EMS calls over the air now.
Yes this was implemented with changing of fireground 1 is now called monroeville public safety. I understand some did not want fire pagers going off for ems calls hence the separate tones.
About what date was that change made to the new dispatching procedures? I was out in Pittsburgh in early October and while I didn't have a lot of time to listen didn't ntice they made any changes. Maybe I just didn't get to listen in at the right times?
I think the major switch over happened late December of 2018. The initial EMS Dispatch uses a "notification tone:, but if they require additional assistance, then they dispatch that with the fire station tones. I scan Monroeville on a regular basis, so if you have any more questions, ask away and I'll try to answer them.
