Mont Co - MNCPPC

Hello All,

I was updating my Mont Co TG ID's when I came across one for Md Nat Cap Park and Planning Commision (Park Police) TG 17008 which lists itself as a Police Tactical freq.

However, I have never come across an analog tactical freq for them. Anyone have any idea of what the corresponding analog freq is?

That is a good questions Paul. I am not exactly sure but I do know before the 800 system was put into use MNCPPC used 151.34 Ch2 - Park Operations/Maintenance as their tactical channel.

This is just a guess, but since MNCPPCis a bi-county commission (Mont & PG) could this ref to a tac channel be to the one listed on the PG County section, 159.27. Here's the link http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&ctid=1204

I've got 151.28 [PL 118.8] for Montgomery and 159.315 [PL 114.8] for PG Park Police.

If i recall correctly, Montgomery County MNCPPC police used the dispatch frequency in simplex mode for their car-car traffic. I dont recall them ever having a tac frequency other than that. The TRS ID is probably a new talkgroup created for them which was not previously available via VHF. Also, it should be noted that while the MNCPPC is a multi-county agency/special district, the two police departments operate independantly of each other. Each county's park police have their own headquarters, command staff, equipment, ect.

Well then, I will add 151.34 (though I have never heard anything but maintenance on this channel before); 159.27; & 159.315 to my park Police bank, listen for about a month, and see what turns up.

(I should mention, that I have not heard the TG being used so far)
