Heading up to Anaconda in August on a road trip and need to know what frequencies and sites to plug in along the route. I have both a Pro 96 and 2096

I-15 from Idaho to I-90 and the counties and population centers (Dillion, Silver Bow, Butte, Deer Lodge, etc)

Also will most likely need to know what custom tables to program for those sites because the Montana trunked system says that the custom tables for each site are in the comments section but I didn't see any. But I may have been looking in the wrong place I don't know.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I just moved away from that area to Cut Bank, but when i left last August nothing down there is digital around those areas. Only exception would be Dillon haven't been there since I moved back here from Tooele UT in 2010.

Here is a table I have drawn up for the statewide system:

There are a few problems with trying to use the Pro96 and Pro2096 on this system.

The first is that these radios only accept a maximum of 6 lines in the table, so you must know which lines are actually used for a particular site. The lines marked with an asterisk are possibly in use.
Another reported problem is that these radios will not accept the 2.5 KHz stepping entry.
Another is that the GRE/Radio Shack scanners alter entries for the Base Frequency if they fall inside the aircraft band. These entries are altered by the radio to comply with the 8.33 kHz spacing in that band.

Sorry I couldn't assist further.

This has been very helpful.

I'm mainly interested in the sites that cover Beaverhead, Silver Bow and Deer Lodge counties since that's where I am headed.

How do you know which lines are used for a site? I didn't see the comments area that was noted when reading up on the statewide system or was too blind to see it.

The table was originally in the Misc System Information section on the database page

https://www.radioreference.com/apps/db/?sid=3825

It conflicts with the table I provided, but I believe mine is more current. (2014)

The files that MtnBiker had in his dropbox are now gone, but contained a few files for the Greycliff and Lewistown sites.

Without someone providing Pro96Com or Unitrunker files for the sites you will be monitoring, it's impossible to guess which lines from the table you actually need.

Those counties are not on the Statewide system.

Just trying to understand.

The RRDB shows sites in the statewide systems for those counties. By this meaning the only users on the sites in those counties are the Highway Patrol then and the rest of law is conventional?

Yes that is correct as of last year when I lived in that area. The highway patrol also runs on both when I was living in Granite County, they used 154.680 in those areas. Montana database is not very accurate in some areas lack of people to help get info.

I thank everyone for the help and the info. I'll take a stab and hope for the best on all fronts and if I find anything new or different I'll pass it along. Thanks.
