got the 436 and the HP1, to work pretty well, the digital distortion on my gre 500 and my pro 106 is major difference between the 436 and the HP 1. I like the GRE 500, just wish I could get it to work as well as the 436. I think it comes down to the firmware updates, i don't want them to get in my inventory, just looking at the inventory of useless scanners, that are no longer effective, guess it comes with digital advancement. pro 92, pro-95, pro 96 pro 2092, and then the bearcat 780 and the 250, series. anyone still using those. oldies but goodies.

Well hats off to you because I live in Dayton and have an HP-2 and can hear anything from Montgomery. And I work for the Sheriff's office to boot! I have tried a couple of different antenna's and changed the range but nothing. I can hear Preble, Greene, and Clinton County but nothing out of Montgomery. Ihave the Hp2 set to "Ohio Marcs-IP:Multi Agency Radio Communications", and then" Montgomery County (57) Law Enforcement". Not sure why but have tried everything I know

What's the date on your database?

I updated it last Sunday same time. I did receive some dispatces for a short period of time but then it stopped receiving Mont Co again. Still get Preble, Greene, and Clinton without issue.

I have a pro-106 and switched over to P25 Manual instead of Auto and somehow I am hearing twice as many transmission and not getting many with distortion like I was on auto. Would be interesting to hear if anyone else using a Pro-106 gets the same results...

58219 is also Huber Heights PD, but I only here when they restrict a channel. I can't narrow down what channel it is. 58088 sounds like maybe a task force. 58510 also sounds like a task force or specialty group.

distortion with pro 106

Yes, I am having the same problem, some frequency's , fine, others are overlapping, Uniden, scanners are doing much better than my GRE and whistler, just got a new 1088 can't get it to do anything, I feel your frustration, been a challenge, Also does anyone know if there using any other frequencies' that I'm Missing, sometimes the broadcast is great, then sometimes, nothing, Using the channels off of Radio Reference. any input is appreciated.

Im using a gre-600 and using control channel only. 853.600. not familar enough with uniden. On unidens do you have to put in control channels and voice channels? This is a 30 channel system.

No on Unidens you can just program in the control channels and the scanner will figure out the rest you don't need to put in all 30 channels.

@Redbluff. For what it's worth, I had trouble with my HP-2, as well. In order to get it to cooperate on accepting new Favorites Lists, I've had to completely reformat the card (yup, delete everything), and then reload the updated download from homepatrol.com, and new favorites. The radio sometimes takes a couple tries before it removes the old and accepts the new (and I don't understand why that is -- much trial and error). Within the last week, the HP-2 is now outputting the same things the FM simulcast is, and gets MontCo Fire, Kettering PD/Fire, WashTwp Fire and Oakwood a bit faster and more reliably than the PSR-800. Range is set to 20 miles.

Side question: is there any way to manually program an HP-2?

Now I'm Completly Confused

I bought a Uniden BCD436HP just about a year ago and it was working great for a while. (I'm only interested in the Police/Sheriff and Fire/EMS in Green and Montgomery Counties.) Then a few months later Greene County went quiet. I didn't use the scanner since mid summer until a few weeks ago when I had the time to give it a try again. I still wasn't receiving anything in Greene County and Montgomery County was now silent. I checked the RR database and noticed that Montgomery County finally switched over to the new system so I decided to start all over again with the scanner setup.

So on December 2 I fired up the Sentinel software, updated the firmware and data base, made a new favorites list and pushed every thing out to the scanner and guess what? Nothing but silence.

When I looked at the newly downloaded DB in Sentinel that I noticed a couple of odd things:
1 - The Montgomery County Law items were still tagged as Analog which doesn't agree with what's in the RR DB Website.
2 - I could not find any listing for Montgomery County Sheriff but they are there in the RR DB Website.

I'm totally confused on what's going on with this scanner and the database.

Can someone please explain what the heck may be going on?

Am I'm missing something?

It sounds like you are not looking at the MARCS-IP System but the old system and the conventional channels.

When I am in the area I receive Greene and Montgomery counties just fine scanning the database on my 436.

Montgomery County and Dayton systems now deprecated

Both Montgomery County and Dayton systems were left on normal display status until we were sure no users were left still active on the systems.

So, the Uniden servers were still listing both systems, it appears as W8RMH stated you were still accessing info from the old analog systems and not MARCS-IP.

At this point it is safe to say neither system exists as their infrastructure has been transferred to MARCS-IP. I have just set both systems to "Deprecated" status, so the Uniden servers (and other software downloaders) will no longer "see" those two systems. It should be in effect on the next update.
