According to the site, Montgomery County uses Motorola Type II Smartzone system. Looking for a scanner which will monitor Police and Fire. Pro-97 supports type II smartzone, however somehow im under the impression police and fire is digital, and pro-97 does not support digital voice?

The majority of Washington DC area (including Montgomery County) public safety trunking systems are now broadcasting in digital a format. The Pro-97 will not decode this digital broadcast. Unfortunately, you will have to buy a digital scanner that is capable of decoding this digital format.
