I work near the Pentagon, and tried to monitor the new system without luck with a Pro-96. To guess at the problem I would speculate whether the receiving range of the system would go that far. I would hope so, and if true, perhaps it is with my programing. So I wanted to ask others who monitor Montgomery County's new system if there is a distance problem, and whether or not there are any special programing quirks involved. All input is welcome, and thanks.

MCo System

I receive the MCo system pretty well here in Northern VA. Maybe you are near a cell site or something.

I can still hear it on the other side of the bay bridge. Start losing the signal along 50 after 404.

Appreciate the imput!

Thanks. Maybe I am in a bad spot. I will try different locations. I did program with all frequences and not just control channels. I do not know if that would make a difference. I am guessing, that not special settings, such as a table change need to be made.

I'm not surprised you can't receive the Montgo 800 mHz at the Pentagon. I have difficulty receiving it with my Pro-96 in downtown DC when I'm outside. Inside my K Street office, no joy at all UNLESS I use an antenna on the roof of our 10 story building.
