Wirelessly posted (blackberry tour (9630): BlackBerry9630/5.0.0.509 Profile/MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/109)

Are you sure they are not using a cell data like Telus or Bell?

I know that usually that's the way it's setup!!!

SPVM MDT freqs

Any1 know what is the input frequency of Montreal SPVM MDT transmission ? also the MDT repeater frequency ?
appreciate all infos.

i'm not sure if these are still current or not, but these are what i have on file..but i'm not hearing ant transmissions on them from the west island...
SPCUM (SPVM)
410.0375
410.3375
410.8125
411.2125

but, there's also active MDT transmissions that i am picking up on the following 3 freqs,
410.4125
411.3375
412.4875
these 3 were listed as SIM (Montreal Fire) back in the early 2000's, but since the SIM moved up to 800mhz trunking, maybe they were changed over to the police now, or not?

that's all i've got on this...

You're right Roots. The SPVM and Urgences-santé using cellular towers. And the SIM are still using those freqs:

410.4125
411.3375
412.4875

now, i am totally confused !! sorry

cell frequency band is in 800Mhz range. not UHF 400Mhz

so does SPVM transmit data to their patrol car in 800M cell band or UHF 400M band ?

thanks

Bell Mobility provides a full range of communications services such as data transmission. If I am not mistaken, they use the 1.9GHz band.

I just found the service in question on the web: EV-DO (Evolution Data Optimized) by Bell.

that's what most police are using for their Data communication (laptop). It's either Bell or Telus!!!!!
