As of Tuesday, 9/2/2014, the patch to Iredell County Fire VHF for the Mooresville TRS was taken down indefinitely. New dispatch protocol for all south end VFD's (Shepherds, South Iredell, Mount Mourne, Lake Norman) consists of simultaneous dispatch on VHF & MFD Dispatch 1 (TG 1616) on the TRS. The only other traffic that will be simultaneous broadcast will be sizeups from first arriving units. All traffic will then work off of MFD fireground talkgroups on the TRS.

As of late Thursday afternoon, 9/4/2014, the patches to Iredell EMS/Rescue VHF and the patch to Iredell Sheriff UHF were taken down, also indefinitely. All ops for these agencies will now only be monitored on the respective VHF/UHF frequencies or VIPER talkgroups.

The official reason given for taking down the patches was interference and missed radio traffic issues from the patches on the VHF/UHF sides.

So much for interoperability.

FireCop,

Do I understand you correctly?

All fire calls in Iredell County are still being dispatched on VHF 154.385. For Northern Depts who utilize VHF only nothing changes but for the Southern Departments which you named the dispatch will go out on VHF and MFD Dispatch 1 TIG 1616 Correct?

So TIG 1712 (County Dispatch) along with County Fire 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 on the 800TRS are no longer being used only MFD Firegrounds?

Yes, you understand correctly. I'm not sure if any more changes will be afoot any time soon.

A new change of events is taking place over the last couple of days. Mooresville Fire Dispatch 1 (TG 1616) is now patched with MFD's old VHF frequency of 154.1300. I'm not sure how long this has been in place or if it will be permanent for the foreseeable future. The link had been taken down a couple of years ago or more. This may have something to do with ECOM being able to better dispatch via VHF instead of the trunked system.

Patches for ICSO (TG 144), Iredell Fire (TG 1712), and Iredell EMS (TG 1744) are back up at least on a temporary basis.
