mmmm i wonder any ideas?

I can no longer pick up MJ police control channels. yet
I noticed now, that on the control channel , there still is the odd encrypted traffic
( assumption the frequencies are still same , mostly.)

with pro 106 did notice rather then just seeing DG on the screen I also now see a P25:293 when actively recieving. any chance Moose Jaw police managed to sneak in their own P25 system with out us knowing??

thanks

NAC 293 is the default NAC programmed into Motorola radios so it does appear they've gone P25.

DSDPlus confirmed P25p1 protocol. fully encrypted .
Activated it again. A former American Global DB Admin changed the status back in 2013.

Please review freq. and talkgroups so that we are up to date.

Thanks :)

What NAC is it showing and can you find a control channel with a system ID?

I know there was a lot of discussion as to whether or not this was a trunking system or just a handful of conventional channels. The last user submission indicated the trunking system had been turned off and this is why the system was Deprecated.

maybe we can relocated this system to the general frequencies page for moose jaw.

the software is not finding which flavor of system it is( so far). The only time the data channel is heard is when there is active communication. DSDPlus program will play that data channel noise and squelch the encryption noise.

this is a bit of the log from the program (RID and KeyID redacted )

I'll keep playing with the program (still learning how to use all the extra command line switches... ) If I turn up anything more concrete to identify which system this is I'll keep you updated

The system should have been left as deprecated. What you've posted looks like a conventional P25 channel not a trunking system. I've deprecated the system again.

What frequency are you listening to and is there any activity on the other frequencies?

Same three frequencies as listed in trunk database. the data noise and encryption cycle through the frequencies.

I'm starting to wonder if this may be one of the North American Tetra systems possibly.

my understanding, is that tetra also uses a P25 protocol. i figure since dsd+ is seeing the p25 protocol, but not seeing the control channel info, it could be a system not in dsd+list of ones it can decode.

Kelly , its posted in one of the other threads. They are not fully encrypted, but have had encrypted comms. Not sure if they are looking at going fully encrypted, or if people are not paying attention with their radios and accidently transmitting in secure mode.
