more control channel issues

Why would my radio not give me the option for setting control channel only setting. The owners manual says to; "go to program system", "go to; edit system options", "go to; set control channel".
My radio does not have "set control channel" under "edit system options".

Any ideas?

Not sure which scanner you are talking about, but I'll surmise from your location it is one of the Uniden digital ones (BCD996T or BCD396T) and you are trying to program the Travis County P25 System.

P25 systems are all Control Channel Only. There is no need for an option, as that is all it will ever do.

Sorry, it's a 396T. I did not know that all P25 systems were all Control Channel Only. I understand now, thanks!
