Certainly stinks that this is the trend. I would like to say that that was a well written and informative news report, unlike so many these days.
They cite "officer safety" so often. That is baloney. Scanners are nothing new. It is really all about the police state which we are in nowadays. Little or no rights and the "secret police" of the old soviet union which we were taught to fear and despise decades ago has become a reality here in America.

I believe that getting the news out on encryption from a newspaper etc is important.
