Ok, I've got the County Garage on 00176 (analog) and something that definitely sounds like law-enforcement tactical on 32912 (digital).

I'm damn impressed with this system - I can hear two of the zones full-quieting with just the stock antenna here in Branchburg. I wish I could get Bucks County as good!

More stuff on 32912

1. "OK, where coming out the back of the building."

and this 3 minutes later...

2. "(name omitted), you guys peel-off here."

and then

3. "OK, just let us know, and we'll head back toward the academy."

Kinda sounds like detectives or investigators to me. I'm catching more short transmissions about 'coming out of the building'...

Morris County programming

Can you help me out with programming the PRO-96 with Morris County? I set up the Base Offset and Spacing according to the reference page on this site but it does not trunk. I wasn't sure if I should be using Site 1 or Simulcast 1 but I tried both with no success. Thanks.

When I get back in off the road here from work (Thursday), I'll pull up my .p96 file and give you all the help you need!

Ok, here's how I have Morris County set up. It requires a multi-table setup, so you'll need Win96 to do this. These pictures should help you get the basics set. I receive the system 100% down here in Somerset County.

I want to thank W2SJW - Scott Wilson for providing the correct Morris County Trunked Radio information, Morris County Roads has a great snow removal operation communications on ID 176, I don't hear them 100% here in Harrison NJ I think because I am next to intermod City (Newark) but I was able to hear them correctly this weekend thanks to the posted information.

Hi hows it going?

Can you guys help me programming the morris county system into a BC-796D ? I have no experience with programming trunking, this baby is 2 days old, and even with scancat and the manuals, I havent been able to figure out how to programm all this stuff into the radio. I havent even gotten the state police North region (and north star) programmed, and it seems like theres alot more people monitoring them...

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Sorry!

I've got no experience with the Unidens, and the programming for them is totally different from the GRE designed scanners.

Ok thanks, Ive re-read the manual a few times, and I think I know how to set the control freqs, from there, I dont even know if the scanner does anything with the controls, but in theory, I could just scan all the couty wide freqs, minus the data chanels, unless the data channels change daily, then Ill be doing alot of "lock out" untill I figure the trunking stuff out.

I would use the software that comes with the scanner to program it rather than trying to to it manually as it sounds like you're doing.

Program all the frequencies and the 2 base/offset frequencies list under the Win96 thread above. The same information applies to the Unidens. You then need to make sure the bank is set to Motorola Type 2/APCO25 UHF, Trunked is marked as On for each frequency and the Trunk Bank is turned on - all which is easily done with the software included with the 796D and 296D. The you can eithe rprogram the indivudal talkgroups listed in the Databse or Scan in ID Search mode.

What about the other frequencies listed in the database

Scott,

I see your screen prints for your Morris County program. There is a second table labeled "System Frequences" in the Freq. Database in this site. How do those frequencies relate to the Morris County Trunked System?
Site Description Freqs
001 Kinnelon 476.5250 477.0000 477.8250 478.6500
002 Long Hill 472.5250 476.4250 477.0500 478.4750
003 Montville 476.5500 476.7500 477.8750 478.6750
004 Randolph 470.8500 472.6000 476.4000 476.6250 477.0750 477.7000 477.9250 478.1500 478.4500
478.6250
005 Simulcast 1 477.9250 478.1500 478.4500* 478.4750* 478.6250* 478.6750*
006 Simulcast 2 476.4000 476.4250 476.5250 476.5500* 476.6250* 477.0000* 477.8750*
007 Long Valley 472.5250 472.6000 476.7500 477.8250*

Can youshed some lite? Are these all different systems???

Look in the database under Morris County. The first entry that says "lastest information" has the info for zones 1 & 2 (the two simulcast sub systems).

The information for Zone 3 (Long Valley ) is as follows:
472.525
472.600
476.750
477.825

Each of these sub-systems need to be set up as individual trunked systems.

The information that shows all the sites and freqs, it is incorrect.

Scott, please update the database accordingly and remove the incorrect info.

Thanks,
George

George,

I actually un-subscribed from this thread about 2 weeks ago. I haven't been getting these replies. Please hit me up on PM with the changes that need to be made, and I'll get them into the database today...

Can the Morris County system be trunked with a Pro-2053? I don't believe that it handles the multiple base/offset combinations that are needed...

THe 2053 will not trunk UHF systems. Also the sherff, park PD, prosecutor, and other county law enforcement agencies are digital. The other county agencies (road dept, MUA, etc are analog).

Scott, I'll send you a private email later today.

Anybody have any new TG id's. I'm still stuck on whether I should purchase a digital scanner, but with the limited TG info out here I'm going to wait. Is there any info to update on the Database?
