Hi Everyone
I live in ST Clair County MI.
I have recently purchased a pro96 off ebay. Appears to be in great condition. Seller claims it was hardly used. It receives conventional freq. fine but nothing in p25. I can see the talk id"s in the display but it will not lock in. So far I have used Win96 to create custom files for my area, have used p96 files sent to me through the michigan forum, experimented with extended tables, reflashed using DSP 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, and even bought a 800 mhz antenna and took a drive. It was suggested to me the logic board might be bad.
Before I send this in for repair is there any suggestions on WHAT i MIGHT TRY NEXT.
Much thanks to BIGBLUEMSP for all his help so far.

Any Help Greatly Appreciated

Im sorry, not sure what you mean. pressing manual in bank 1 and 2 gives me the control freq. The only thing I see is the talk group id's but the unit will not stop or lock in. I get no voice chatter only noise or silence.

If you press MAN while on a trunked bank:
1. you should hear the CC noise
2. The bottom line of the display will read
96: sy796
the sy796 will aternate with T2xx where T2xx is the tower number, and the far right will give a % number.

Could the programming be incorrect, the unit faulty or I am just too far away.
I did take the unit with me to work the other day which is in STR. HTS. Macomb County [programmed with win96 for that area] and I got the same thing on there cc's

I think your problem is that you're trying to get a simulcast system, both St. Clair and Macomb counties are simulcasts. Can you get any of the non-simulcast sites on MPSCS?

I dont know but ill pick one, program a bank and give it a shot.
Didn,t know there would be a problem with simulcast. (WHY?)
Just when I think I'm starting to get it it seems I'm back to square one.
I'll let you know

Thank You

This would be a good thing to do, if you can work it out with BigBlue.

(hey, that even rhymes!)
Agreed. The double nuts decode rate on line 4 indicates he is to far from the tower or has a bad antenna/connection or bad receiver.

Nothing wrong with BigBlue's advertisements either.
