When setting up my database, I have a few channels that I would like to temporarily turn off.

In the database I have set "Military Air" for example to "OFF" in the monitor setting but after uploading to the SDS200 it still scans it.

I have also set the one problematic channel within the "Military Air" as "Avoid" in the database then loaded it to the SDS200.....it still scans it!

Is it me? Is it Sentinel?

Thanks to all for everyone's help!!

What month is it?
Did you set it in Sentinel - or the radio?

Remember, when you write to scanner, it overwrites whatever is on the radio with what is in Sentinel.

Consider using quick keys....(?)

When you do a "Write to Scanner", do you check the "Erase Favorites List on Scanner" box? If not it is possible you have a duplicate Favorites List lingering around. That version may still have those things turned on.

So original iteration has the "stuff" On, and the second iteration, where you turned it Off, it is off. That's been known to create the same situation you are describing, for both the "Military Air" and the one channel.

When programming with Sentinel, there is no such thing as "Temporary Off". Sentinel allows only Avoid or not Avoided for Systems/Departments/Channels. Your only options are Quick Key use or wait until the channel pops up when scanning, then press Avoid button once for a temporary avoid. Temporary Avoids clear whenever the scanner is powered down.

Setting "Military" to OFF only affects channels tagged Military. If the Service Type is set to something else (like Aircraft), it will remain scanned.
