So I went out with the 705 to have some fun today. First stop in LaFargeville, nice RF quiet area. Attempted a couple of contact, barely got to ECARS. Went to Wellesly Island. Keyed up the radio and got heterodyne. I'm like what the...SWR is fine. Try again, continues. Did a hard reset and reloaded from the SD card. Seemed to work.
Went down to Alexandria Bay. I grant it was a bit windy, but key up on SSB and the TX was full out without me speaking. The only way to bring it down was bring the mic gain down to 19. Tried another Icom mic, same thing. Any ideas? I can't win LOL
