The Morgan County Communications Center Board announced it has installed an additional 16 channels in its recorder to expand its recording capability.

“The 16 recording tracks have been installed in the recorder, and the communications center is now able to record by radio channel as opposed to by dispatch position,” said Communications Director Pam Monsees.

She told board members at their monthly meeting Tuesday the recorder is now recording by talk group instead of by console position.

“Right now we should be recording pretty much everything that has much traffic on it,” she said.

The cost of the channels totaled $22,899, which was taken from the 911 fund.

Monsees also announced the Eastern Colorado Drug Task Force, a conglomerate of officers from different departments in Northeastern Colorado, has asked to use some of the center’s radio channels in the task force’s radios.

She said the task force has been allocated its own radio channel, and she recommended to the board that all officers who are part of the group use the channel designated for the task force.

Monsees presented the Morgan County Communications Center 2006 telephone statistics at the meeting.
