Hello All,
Just wanted to report that just a little over one hour ago, I overheard [on 151.355MHz, our CalFire CMD-1 channel] the following:
"...A-T 460 5 minute ETA, Morgan Hill A-T..."
Morgan Hill is over 400 miles NorthWest of my QTH.
On 220 MHz, in the past two months, I have had more often than not, 40db over S-9 QSO's with Santa Barbara repeaters, which are over 165 miles NorthWest from me. So much for "line of sight" communications on VHF/UHF.
I know that the absence of sunspots have been playing havoc, to some extent, with HF communications, but on the VHF/UHF frequencies, it hasn't hurt, but has enhanced them.
Just thought you'd like to know...
