Fort Morgan firefighters put out two structure fires, four grass fires and two tree fires over the weekend with help from the Brush Volunteer Fire Department.
An animal shelter in the 17000 block of County Road 21 was burned and an adjoining shop damaged in a Saturday fire, with firefighters receiving a 4:29 p.m. call and arriving on scene at 4:38 p.m. The scene was cleared at 5:12 p.m.
The cause was believed to be a controlled burn that got out of control.
