Hi. I have been hearing calls on my scanner about people needing the fire department or the ambulance or the police. I noticed the departments not dispatched by the county are getting to the call or scene faster than the ones that are dispatched from the county. Any reason why this is?

Can you give examples?

Depends on several factors. First, time of day. Second, if members are readily near the fire or ems HQ. Remember, most of the departments are volunteers.

Having the page go out from local PD or from County should not make a difference.

If you are saying the time the first responders take from receiving the page to getting on scene, that would have nothing to do with County vs local PD.
