I found a frequency in the database for MCREDS a.k.a. Morris County Regional Emergency Deployment System, 151.055R. Is this frequency still used, and if so what for ?

I'm guessing no since the installation of the UHF trunked system (MIRS).

This was the outstanding Morris County Public Works channel used by the road department it was a kick ass repeater before they moved to the TRS system which can hardly be heard in the newark area. I think Morris County Transport used it during the day as well.

Guess I'll throw it in the scanner bank and see if it's ever used.

mondaro...Where was/is the repeater...Mt. Freedom ? If so, it's a great site...I think the WS2Q ham repeater is up there and I get it all over the place.

I thought it was supposed to be used for OEM once the County DPW moved to the TRS? I catch a brief transmission on it every once in a while...very brief. Had heard anything substantial on it since the TRS went live however.

Repeater site is done on West Hanover Ave.

Since its a County Frequency, there is supposed to be a way that any agency can be patched into the TRS by calling in on MCREDS. I've never heard of this, but heard its feasible. Probably only for portable radios since all cars have the MIRS.

Just heard the Comm Center talking to Medic 11 on 151.055 who was responding out of Morristown to a call in Mendham Borough...getting their ETA. County then relayed this to the PD unit on the TRS.
