Hello....

Anyone have the correct information on the Morris County Trunk Radio system.
What is verified ? Which freq's and in what order should they be programed
along with the correct spacing and base offset freq. Thanks in Adance.

I have seen this data before but Has this information been programmed into a radio and tested for Morris County ?

If anyone has tested it which of the sites work the best.

Thanks

Tony

Of course it has. Where do you think the data came from? As a rule of thumb always program the Simulcast sites first but I have ALL site frequencies programmed (without duplicates) and have never missed a transmission due to not having that frequency programmed.

Just want to point out that it seems as if someone incorrectly posted the channel numbers as talkgroup ID's.

For example the only valid talkgroup that is listed under Morris County Shared Talkgroups is 48. The others are the actual radio channel numbers not talkgroups.

There has been some information posted that lists the channel numbering on the county radios and the associated usage. The talkgroups for some of these channels still have yet to be determined, hence the slight confusion. I've submitted the corrections but then someone else dose the same and the database admins get confused.

Basically if a talkgroup listed has either an A, D or an E listed under Mode, then it is valid and confirmed.

Thanks for posting your updates... The Talkgroups I have here are all fine. But my problem is I am trying to listen to the system in the Newark Area. I am use to the old VHF system where I heard the road department 5x5 when they where clearing snow etc etc. My brother lives in Whippany off Whippany road and I am re programming has
radio so I am caught between a rock in a hard place because all I here is noise.

I guess living on the other side of the ridge line is the problem. Anyway thanks for all your help I didn't mean to imply the information was bad this that I always had a rough time hearing it and needed to know if the info that was posted was correct and you where nice enough to clear that up.

Have a great day !!

A couple of notes.

The channel info in the database is incorrect. I sent Steve a correct list a while ago. I'll have to read my scanner and make sure to get it to Steve to update the database correctly.

The system is split into three separate systems currently, two simulcast systems and a standalone IntelliRepeater site in Washington Twp. The system uses directional antennas at some sites designed to keep the signal from interfering with co-channel users further away outside the county so signal strength outside the county may be weak. Also UHF does not cover as far as VHF so that will account for a weaker signal in Newark.

Last, the "noise" you may be hearing may be Astro calls on the system as it is mixed mode. The Sheriff, park PD, Prosecutors office are all digital all the time. The road department, MAPS, and other non public safety talkgroups are analog.

I've verified a lot of my info using Trunker.

Rocket..

Can you post the correct channel information on this thread or email it to
hwcwx@ix.netcom.com

You are right on the money with your observations to
I heard everything you mentioned.

Thanks to you both for giving me some insight on
this.

Correct talkgroups are listed in John's PDF file:
http://wc2em.net:8080/scanner/morriscounty.pdf It also has the mobile radio lineup for the MIRS (Interop) radios.

Since the Park Police, Sheriff Department and the Prosecutor's Office all have different channel plans, they are laid out something like this

Sheriff:
CH.1 CG-COM [48] analog
CH.2 CGLE COMM2 [32784] Sheriff/Park PD Dispatch
CH.3 SHERIFF-1 [32816]
CH.4 SHERIFF-MOBILE [32848]
CH.5 SHERIFF-SMPL [unknown conventional frequency]
CH.6 COURT [472.2500 - PL 71.9]
CH.7 JAIL [478.4750 - PL 71.9] **

** Note that the Jail frequency will be changing to 453.8125R at some point as the current frequency is part of the TRS and there is some interference being caused. There is also a simplex frequency of 458.650 listed to so maybe that will be CH. 2.

Park Police:
CH.1 CG-COM [48] analog
CH.2 CGLE COMM2 [32784] Sheriff/Park PD Dispatch
CH.3 PARK PD-1 [33040]
CH.4 PARK PD-MOBILE [33072]
CH.5 PARK PD-SMPL [unknown conventional frequency]

PROSECUTOR [32944] Encrypted
SEARCH & RESCUE [32880]
OEM/HAZMAT [33264]
EMERG CALL [16] analog

MIRS-DESK [33344]
MIRS-1 [33328]

Municilap Government Law Enforcement: (I've seen posts that this may not be used after all)
Ch. 8 MGLE-1 [unknown talkgroup]
Ch. 9 MGLE-2 [unknown talkgroup]
Ch. 10 MGLE-3 [unknown talkgroup]

County Services:
CG COMM1 [176] County DPW
PARKS [144] County Parks Maint.
MUA [240]
MAPS [272]
Unknown talkgroup [244]

I do want to mention that after a little research I notice that there are 3 frequencies under the TRS Call Sign that are not paired with a repeater and appear to be for simplex use only. 473.850, 475.525, 475.600. These could be the Sheriff Simplex and Park PD Simplex frequencies mentioned above. Additionally I also found an older (pre TRS) license for 3 additional frequencies under a different call sign (WPUQ467). They are 472.650, 472.950, 477.7625. I'll have to program all of these in and see if I pick up anything on them.

George,

Get me the latest info in a PM, and I'll update the database for you. I have the time to jump on that stuff alot quicker these days...

The MIRS radios are currently being installed in most Police, Fire, & EMS vehicles across the county. Give it time, but I'm sure someone with a emergency vehicle and a digital scanner can post the accurate info SOON. Attached is the current line-up.

Anybody who gets the correct TG ID's would be greatly appreciated...

Royal installed the radios for Flanders today. For $2500 a radio they don't look like much.

Apparently we can talk to the state too. I don't see how, unless it's state agencies located within Morris County. That's what those UTAC ID's are for.
