A SERT situation is happening in boonton right now, and I overheard the sheriffs saying that SERT was going to communicate on: "SERT 1" but there is no SERT 1 listed on the DB. Does anyone know more about MCs unlisted channels?

For all we know, SERT could be an encrypted channel like TG270 or 286. And given the potential traffic, it more likely is than isn't.

Wouldn't it be entitled "SERT" if it was SERT
No, not necessarily. They could refer to the talkgroups as something other than what they are normally called. Or it could be an encrypted talkgroup that isn't in the RRDB, of which there are a few.

Your best bet would be to watch the trunked system with a program like Unitrunker while a SERT operation is going on, and look for transmissions on unidentified talkgroups.

Or it could just be some random, unlicensed frequency that they're using. Perhaps even P25 with AES encryption.

Sounds like it was related to the possible brandishing a weapon call. It was a male and 2 females.
If it is/was that, I heard it on both Lincoln Park and Montville. On their respective P25 channels. Supposedly it went over MIRS? And maybe SPEN? And whatever this channel is you’re speaking of.

It was a barricaded EDP, it was not brought up on LP, Montville, or MIRS.

AES-256 secured
They were on Police 8, then County went to MIRS for SERT, which responded on Police 11. And later switched to "SERT-1" but most comms were on 11.

Basically. Police 11 was only used for the of the response to the scene, and role call for (41) cars. Most comms that involved the search and apprehension were on SERT-1. The last transmissions on Police 11 were units clearing.

Doesn't appear to be the case, as you noted in your first post. Since they are strapped secure, doesn't really matter either way. 🤷‍♂️

How can you declare that as a definite if they aren't listed anywhere?

Just because they aren’t listed on radio reference doesn’t mean that people don’t have alternative sources for information (as he very likely does). Radio reference submissions rely on those who chose to submit information from reliable sources or first-hand knowledge.

Oh good grief, do you really need it spelled out? There are people who are in the know, and plenty of stuff that never gets listed in the RRDB, and for good reason. The SERT channels are encrypted, and are not listed, end of story.
