Will be moving to Morristown within the month and was wondering if any one could help with local police sheriff and state police frequencies. Have a Uniden BCD996P2 which I think will pick up most frequencies. Thanks.
Is it possible that Morristown Fire is still using 154.385 analog? I am in Campbell County and have this frequency plugged in for Lafollette Fire. I had never heard anything until yesterday, when I moved my outdoor antenna and now I am receiving very weak transmissions, so weak that the static is causing the voice to be unreadable but my PRO-160 is receiving a CTCSS tone 146.2. It's been quite active today, just can't copy what they are saying. After searching, I found that Morristown uses the same tone on 154.040 for "Public Works" which leads me to believe that this is Morristown I am receiving. The database says 154.385 is "100.0 PL" but maybe they have changed it?They no longer use the conventional frequencies for primary communications. As of November, they started transitioning to the Tennessee Advanced Communications Network (TACN). Everyone just switched to this new system and not everyone is online yet but they soon will be, so there is not a complete channel lineup for Hamblen County & Morristown just yet. But the Law Enforcement channels for Morristown Police and Hamblen County Sheriff's Office are completely encrypted. You will need to program this system to monitor them and Tennessee Highway Patrol: Tennessee Advanced Communications Network (TACN) Trunking System, Various, Multi-State . The Pinebrook site is a brand new TACN site in Hamblen County. English MTN and Viking might be good to program in as well.
I rekon that MFD only uses TACN now unless for some reason they use analog radios for training. Is it possible that Morristown Fire is still using 154.385 analog? Morristown Police Department and Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office channels on TACN are encrypted. You will not be able to receive them on their main channels. You can receive THP and Walter’s State Community College Public Safety for Law Enforcement on TACN. Jefferson County Law Enforcement also plans to be on the TACN system by Thanksgiving, so you will be able to get them (if they do not encrypt).Does anyone have an update on Morristown Police dispatch? Have programmed TACN and Hamblen County conventional frequencies but have not heard any thing from the police department. Thanks.
