About 2 days ago all traffic on the Cape Girardeau 700 site went silent. I found it again on MOSWIN Trailer 2, they must have moved the trailer into Cape Girardeau now. I am hearing Cape Gir City & Fire, Cape Co sheriff, Sikeston PD & MSHP Troop C & E on Trailer 2 but also on sites Farrar (20 miles away) and occasionally Cherokee Pass/Fredericktown (39 miles away) There are 2 towers listed in Cape Girardeau, Cape Gir 700 and Cape 70 Simulcast but the coordinates are all wrong for them. There is one near I55 & Kingshighway next to the water tower and 1 atop a hill by St Francis hospital by the water tanks. I dont know which of them is which.
I am just now getting back into this and learning a little at a time so If anyone has any info on this area please share.

Interesting find. I am a total noob, and know very little about this. I will have to add in the trailers to my G5. I know the county was awarded some grants for a new site that they were looking at putting in the Northeast part of the county. According to the simulcast license, WRFJ891, it has locations at the university, I55, and behind St. Francis. Just a guess, but the Cape 700 I believe would be located at I55 as well, since Conservation is located within the same park. I have no evidence, just speculation.

Nice catch. I found one of the towers for the 700 simulcast where you found it, near 55 and the city park that is visible from 55. There is supposed to be another antenna/tower on the grounds of SEMO. Not exactly the spot. I have not found the regular MOSWIN site tower location that is in Cape Co (I am assuming). Someday I will get down that way and drive around the county to find it. Could be interesting.

I just remembered reading an article in the Southeast Missourian newspaper that talked about removing a communications tower from the old county courthouse in Jackson Mo, that's right next to the county sheriff's new 911 dispatch Center. The article said it was going to be moved to a water tower. Details were limited because only the first part of the story is readable, you have to subscribe to read it all. So maybe work has begun on that.

It is showing as site 33 which IS CAPE. There was a change in RR Database to change how the COWS/SOWS and other movable trunked repeaters were handled., and I think you are NOT receiving that facility, but your radio is finding the freq and "assuming" it is that "site." SInce this Control channel is used on several sites, you may check again later and find another site name shows.

This may well be a change of frequencies of the actual Cape site. The SIte NAC does not fit the "old" Cape site nor the trailer, which makes me think the Cape site had changed freqs and site NAC.

yeah I see that 33 site ID is the same as I was getting from "cape 700 freqs" from the RR database, that was what I was initially listening to it on for weeks. They may have changed the actual freqs as you said. My 996p2 has the freqs from "cape 700" still in it, but I added the new "trailer 2" freqs into it also. I will see if anything ever comes back to the cape 700 site freqs The way I even found those freqs from trailer 2 even worked is I picked up a 436hp and let it run its full database zip code programming and that's when I noticed the traffic on the "trailer 2" freqs. Using the 436hp analyze function, the cape 700 freqs has nothing, no site ID or anything.

@scanman1958 The SEMO site is on the monopole just above Houck Field. This is also where our Transit and DPS repeaters are located at.

So glad I found this thread. I thought my scanner lost UHF. On Dec 8th, it all went quiet. I have a tall antenna and have been listening to the Benton site. I searched this morning and picked up traffic on 769.9187MHz and 770.1687MHz. I created a new site in my scanner with the below frequencies, and it's working fine. It'll be interesting if it stays.

Those are the Charleston 700 (site 49) freqs. You must have a tall/good antenna! Im only 25' in the air on an DPD Omni-x. I am mainly picking up the Farrar site as I am in northern cape county. Farrar is a mighty strong signal. I have heard some on the Cape700 Simulcast freqs for the first time ever today as well. Trailer 2 has not been very active today.
Here is what I have heard traffic on for the cape area, All freqs are imported from the RR MOSWIN database.
Trailer 2
769.16875c769.40625a770.95625770.96875774.30625c

Farrar

Cape 700
769.43125769.93125770.18125770.93125a773.55625774.05625c

Cape 700 Simulcast
769.75625770.28125a770.58125a771.01875c771.31875a

I get some traffic thru the Cherokee Pass/Fredericktown Site also,

I have been logging all hits for a few days now. I am confused now. I have looked at the freqs and trailer 2 is what is showing up for alot of cape traffic. I looked at the log and I am getting all of your freqs you listed(which are Caruthersville 700 site 49 in RR database) but trailer 2 only has 769.1687 and the rest of what is showing up is not programmed to trailer 2. So how for example is 769.9187 displaying as Trailer 2? Also, on my 436hp, I used analyze on 769.1687 which is listed as trailer 2, it is showing site 33. I am guessing since trailer 2 shows as site 33 still that they made a permanent change to the freqs on Cape 700.

Cape 3.33 shows
769.16875 cc
769.41875 alt cc
769.66875
769.91875
770.16875

Also Marble Hill 700 (3.46) -a Cape neighbor- uses 769.16875 as a control channel as well as Caruthersville 700 (3.49) -low power- to the South. Interestingly all three 700 Mhz sites are using the same Control Channel. I confirmed this using DSD+ neighbor lists.

Yesterday I deleted the old Cape 700 freqs and copied the Caruthersville 700 in so its working on that now. I am confused that Trailer 2 had the right control channel but the rest were wrong and the scanner still showed "trailer 2" with say any of the other 4 freqs that were not programmed to it. I had Caruthersville 700 in there too so technically it should have showed that as the site. Why it was doing that I have no clue. I have since deleted Caruthersville to avoid confusion. Good thing I have this 436hp with the zip code database, thats how I found trailer 2 was even working for Cape area.

The new "template b" freqs are now in the database. Many scanners just "match" control channels to provide the site name. What counts is the site NUMBER. Is the SIte NAC still 1CA?

I was thinking that same thing was going on. My pic from above on the trailer 2 it was 1C8h but we know that wasnt setup ideally and only a fluke. Today it is 1CCh, using 769.16875c 769.41875a 769.66875 769.91875 770.16875 770.41875
