I'm having a heck of a time with off and on correct receiving of a Motorola simulcast 800 MHz system. The audio keeps getting choppy of and on. I have a RadioShack 800 MHz antenna on top of the sma adapter that came with the scanner. I have squelch set to "2". P25 Waiting time for the one site that we have is set to 200ms.
Is there a default setting that, if you're locality has a Motorola smartnet simulcast system, your settings should be (x, y and z)? I'm about ready to pull my hair out!
FYI, I'm receiving VA Stars Virginia State police no problem what so ever.
