• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

you can use any of the addressable pins you like. The pin number does not matter if you are making the connections/cabling yourself, you can just pick what ever pin you would like. The functional interconnect is more important than the actual pin number. If you are using a ready-made/off the shelf item to connect the two, that would make the numbering more important.

I am using a 6pin din to Motorola 16pin cable and I'm using the R1 Echolink controller. The intructions from that specify which pins to use..but it doesn't seem to match up in the cps

It is a trivial task on those cables to move a pin from one spot to another if you can't get it to work in the CPS. It's been many moons since I've been in the CPS for that unit, so I can't help you that way....but all you need is a dental pick, pin puller, or even a push pin to pull the tab on the pin you need to move, and slide it into another one.

I picked up the 6-26 pin adapter for mine, as I'm using the Moto XPR4550 on the R1. Your Moto with the 16 pin should be fine, just the pin numbers are different for that radio. (You can't move pins on the R1 Moto boards, it's plug is soldered to the circuit board) ALL u need is PTT, and COS/PL detect.

For your radio, I believe PTT is pin 5, then 4,8,12 and 14 are programmable, you just need PL detect to go on whichever one of those and your done. What is your instructions saying? It was a year ago since I did mine, so don't know where mine went.

THANK YOU
So in the Commercial CPS for the CM 300 all the pins are even numbers, that's what is throwing me off. The instructions say to use pin 3 and 5 etc...but I don't have that option, that's why I'm confused.

Hey guys, I'm back to working on this project again. Still having a issue with Transmit Audio being too low, and Dispatch can barely hear us. Anyone have suggestions? Gain is at 8 and that's as high as it will go before it starts distorting badly. Using a M1225 Radio now.

Yes pls. I'm using the commercial series cps I just can't figure out what settings for the accessory connector. The instructions with the R1 unit mention pin 3 etc.but the CPS only shows me pins 2, 4,6, 8 etc.
Thank you
