MOTOROLA APX6500 P25 OR NOT?

Good evening guys . I have a bunch of these APX6500 and since I'm a newbie I'm confuse. Motorola is not like Harris where you can rely on option codes. Is this Radio P25? Can this radio be ugraded ?

It is a 7/800 mhz radio. Yes it is p25. You'll have analog and p25 conventional and trunking in p25 phase 1. Upgrades are possible but depending on features you want it'll cost.

Odd that the FC show’s primary band as VHF if it’s a 7/800 radio.

Yes, P25. No, to Phase II. But that feature can be added for a price.

Motorola is not like Harris where you can rely on option codes.

The "option codes" for an APX is the FLASHcode, which shows you exactly what features the radio has. It helps if you use a good decoder and understand what each feature is, though.

The "golden" flash decoder is the one at the Motorola Solutions site. But you've got to be registered to use it. It supports the extended AAAAAA-BBBBBB-CCCCCC-DDDDDD-E format.
