Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Have a motorola astro saber 1 - uhf - 403-470 mhz , uhf portable
have all the lastest firmware , software updates installed
problem - mixed analog and p-25 apco digital on zone 1 [a] setting.
The astro on scan [will] scan [analog] channels but will not scan [p-25 ] channels
i have 5 - p-25 channels and 4- analog channels on zone 1 [a] setting . I can only listen to 1 channel @ a time , by selecting channel selector 1-2-3-4-5 on p-25. The audio is crystal clear.
Does anyone have any ideas on what to look @ next , internal scan board problem or a program setting that was missed. Thanks for any relpy!

You need to go into each personality (1-16) and assign a scan list to EACH personality, otherwise if you are sitting on that personality the radio will not scan due to not having a scan list assigned to it.

You also need to assign the channels that you want to scan to the said scan list.

I usually do one scan list per zone... The first thing I do is create a new blank Scan list, we will call it Scan List 1. I then create 16 personalities, and assign all 16 to scan list 1. I then go into the zone channel assignment and create 16 channels in the zone, and assign the 16 personalities I created to channels 1 through 16.

After that if it still is not scanning, that would point to your NAC or tone being incorrect and muting the channels, OR you have signaling enabled on the channel and it is set to AND unmute, which will mute all of the traffic.
