Anyone know if there is a list of the frequencies/PL/DPL tones the Motorola CLS-series use anywhere? There seems to be 100+ freqs and at least 100 if not more tones. The radios I speak of are coming into use now at Target stores.

Thanks!

In the CLS series radios, all 56 frequencies are using "narrow" (11k0f3e) bandwidth and use Motorola's X-Pand audio companding system. X-Pand is always on and cannot be disabled.

I keep all of these frequencies programmed into a bank in every scanner I own. You never know what you'll hear on these frequencies, licensed or otherwise! Most acitvity from what I've monitored has been unlicensed. Motorola is using the bubble pack approach to market these radios similar to the FRS/GMRS bubble packs, except these are marketed towards business users.

A google search has not yielded any results with a PL/DPL list. Specifically i'm looking for the following codes in the radios now that I have the frequencies.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We use those for floor staff at my work.

The default "from-the-factory" frequency is 464.550 PL67.0

They all default to a 67.0 PL, no matter which of the 4 channels you are on. I know that channel 3 is 467.850. Not sure on 2 and 4.

Most agencies who buy them will never change the channel/PL tone as they either don't care, or because since they work fine out of the box, they just don't wanna dick with it.

All of the tones you listed are DPL.

Those codes are DPL codes. Codes 1-38 are for the 38 standard CTCSS/PL tones. Codes 39-121 are Motorola's 83 standard DPL codes.

The owner's manuals for many of Motorola's cheap business radios such as the CLS series and the XTN series list all of the tones/codes with the corresponding code #. I know they are listed in the XTN series owners manual. Surf Motorola's site and download the XTN series User Guide document.

Good luck.

From page 40 in the XTN series user guide....

Code #54 = DPL 115
Code #50 = DPL 072
Code #62 = DPL 155
Code #68 = DPL 205
Code #72 = DPL 244
Code #79 = DPL 306

Glad to help!
