To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

If you clicked on the M2020.01 CPS 2.0 then yes that's the latest one posted. It's what I get when I download..
Unless you are doing only one or two devices you should be in Radio Manager going forward for everything.

I have a newer "Enabled" model 5550e made in NOV 2018 that shipped with 2.09 and it has everything listed as free except for Capacity Max so I assume that is probably the way the current "Enabled" radios are configured also.
That's almost certainly the case since the radios are shipping with 2.10 now.

Actually, that was my question. Since M2020.01 should be in the factory I was wondering if he got 2.10 or M20 .

It would depend on when the radio was actually made. I'm not sure if the M20 is shipping yet. It's been a minute since I have picked up any brand new radios, but there are many "New" radios with 2.10 that have not been sold yet that are basically new-old-stock now.
A new radio will always leave the factory with the most current firmware available, regardless of when it was actually manufactured.
I know but I was referring to the stock of radios that some of the channel partners have for sale.

Wish that were true, but they do not unpack update and repack the inventory before it ships to a dealer. Some dealers I work with assume that a firmware update has to be part of the commissioning process so they don't under estimate the cost of deploying the system. . This is due to being burned in the past.

I have seen brand new radios where the FW version is marked on the tag, & a separate small tag next to it with the next FW bump that was done while the radio was still at the factory.

Yes! My friend bought a 7550e a few years ago and on the tag it was R02.08, and on the sticker it said R02.09. Not common but I have definitely seen it before.
