If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi all,

I am attempting to perform an alignment on an HT-1000. I'm using an R-2600 and the 4035 test box. The issue that I'm seeing is that if I set the RF generator to the proper freq, 1mV output as stated in the service manual and then monitor the AC audio level the level is coming in at around 1.3V, much lower than the 3.74Vrms specified, but it's already very loud, to the point of distortion so turning up the soft pot doesn't seem like the solution (and I don't think I could get it anywhere near 3.74V anyway).

Does anyone have experience with aligning HT-1000's that might be able to shed light on this?

Thanks,

Chris

Hi cmdrwill,

I'm measuring audio by connecting the universal connector to an RTX-4005B box, setting the box to "Audio PA" and the Audio Out as "MT" with either "speaker" or "load" selected (as expected both settings yield identical results) and then connecting the AC/DC Mtr connections to the R-2660 through the "Vert/SINAD/DVM/Counter In" connection and selecting the AC Voltmeter with a 10V Range (or auto range). If I measure the audio from the AC/DC Mtr with a standard AC DVM I see similar results.

I've also tried this on 4 different radios and all yield results in the 1.5V range, nowhere close to the 3.74V range. So I figure I must be doing something wrong.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris
