• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello. I'm new to the forum, but I have a few years experience in Motorola Mobile and handheld radios (with limited experience in APX models). I received an HT1250LS from eBay labeled as untested. I've been ordering radios in this condition and performing repairs as needed, but this is the first time I received one that had a CPS password. I can't read or write without entering the password. Needless to say, the seller denied knowing the password and doesn't accept returns. I'm using Professional Series CPS R06.12.05. The model of this radio is H25RDH9DU5AN. I've tried everything from Hex editing CPS to bypass the password requirement to monitoring the serial port for raw data to try and locate the password in text format (as I've been able to do with CDM series radios in the past). Nothing has yielded any results. Does anyone have a Codeplug I could jam into this thing? I would greatly appreciate any help. Thank you.

Do you think eBay would bend to that request? He did label it untested. I accept responsibility for being the idiot that purchased it in that condition, but it has paid off for me 99/100 times, so I guess I had good success. I think it would be nice to get it working if possible though, as I have plenty of refurb kits and a lot of security firms still use these around here.

@ems55 Were you just reacting to the post, or do you have one available to share? Thanks in advance. If nobody has an available .cpg file to send, I will initiate a return with Ebay. Or, I will save the radio for parts. It wouldn't hurt to have extra HT1250 parts around. I haven't really worked with them since around 2013, but in the past few months I've had around 10 sent to me for various repairs and programming.
