Push come to shove, all it takes is an rj45 connector, a db25 connector, a few feet of telephone wire, the schematic ( http://www.batlabs.com/images/maxpin.gif ), and about 10 minutes to make one.

tried that schematic when I 1st programmed the 2 i got.. that schematic was a failure. didnt work.
the once that eneded up getting built that worked. well its gone somewhere to never never land never to be found again. (seriously cant find the stupid thing) and I dont feel like slaving for hours to figure out how the hell the 1st one was built.
easier just getting a proper prog cable. doing what needs done and send it back.
I would bet you are looking at the plug backward. Are you visualizing the diagram as a plug laying pins down with the tab on top or the receptacle in the radio? I can see how the diagram could be viewed either way.

we had it right. just didnt work for us. there is an echolink schematic on the net simple design. but again didnt work for us ether. so we had to build our own.
wish I knew wtf happened to our maxtrac cable we built.. but things get lost when you dont use them for months
