Just watching my local news and there was a segment stating Google bought Motorola Mobility in whole

That is the consumer wireless (cell phone) group.
Motorola Solutions is the 2-way radio company.

Yup figured it would happen. Considering the cell side was hemmoraging money

As long as Android OS continues to be "open" (as Google claims) I'll remain happy with Google.

Huge fan of the purchase. Hopefully, they ditch the crappy MOTOBLUR and locked bootloaders.

I'm a proud owner of a Droid X (purchased on release date) with Cyanogenmod installed. It's been the best phone ever. An unlocked bootloader would make it even better!

Agreed, MaxTracker! Remember how GE (later Ericsson) used to make good, solid mil-spec professional radios? One day I saw a cell phone that said "Ericsson" on it. After that day, I never saw another Ericsson radio I'd buy or recommend buying.
