Motorola MT1000 programming

This is for anyone who has Motorola programming experience.

I'm having trouble getting my MT1000 to mute, or go into the standby mode when the switch is in the speaker slash position. (Far left)

I have the QC II tones programmed, but I'm not seeing anything in the software that indicates why I can't get it to go into this mode. (pager mode)

Any help is appreciated!
