• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Motorola MTR3000 CPS 1.x, 2.0 Codeplug Issue

I have a Motorola MTR3000 repeater. I also have CPS v16.0 build 828 and CPS 2.0 v2.153.167.0

CPS 2.x throws error [#101005] Codeplug version not supported. Please refer to application help files for supported codeplug versions.
when I try to read, update or recover. Help says I'll need at least v 14.00.00 before CPS 2.0 will work.

CPS 1.x throws error: Error #1067 - Region not supported.
But this is absolutely an NA radio and everything I see supports that.
I can't see anywhere to identify if my CPS 1.x is for North America or not so I'm digging on that.

MOTOTRBO Tuner reads the radio and shows:
Model Number: T3000A
RX Freq Range: 136-174 MHz
TX Freq Range: 136-174 MHz
Firmware Version: R01.09.11
Codeplug Version: 11.00.14
Bootloader Version: R02.03.01
Controller FPGA Version: 02.02.01.01
MAC Address: 84-24-80-03-5A-04
Last Programmed: 10/5/2012 3:29 PM
Region: NA

RDAC also reads it and shows:
Firmware: R01.09.11
Codeplug: 11.00.14

I have put all maintenance on that I can find on the Motorola site and believe I have the latest of all software.

Any ideas how to get past this so I can read the codeplug and configure the radio?

Yeah that's what I'm leaning towards as well. I pleaded a year ago or so on a forum to find it and a gracious person sent it to me. I can't see anywhere to identify what region it is for. I am registered on the Motorola site but everything they have is CPS 2.0. I guess it's good news that the codeplug may be old enough I can use the Amateur radio friendly CPS 1 v16.x software. Now I just need to find out where I can get one to try and see if that's the issue.

Got another copy of the CPS and it now works perfectly. I wish there was a way to see what region the CPS was for. Oh well. Moving on.
