+1 on previous post. They work well for simplex comms, even in 2020. Much like HT750/1250's, there are a lot of them out there, batteries can be found, and the programming is easy compared to APX and XPR series radios. Simplex is easy and range is often a couple miles under ideal conditions. I use a couple for testing older Quantar repeaters, with some simplex channels to coordinate with other co-workers in a large warehouse where the work is done.
