• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Have you signed the licensing agreement with Motorola for the CPS/RSS packages? If not you will have to do that first. After that you should be able to add the packages you are looking to purchase. It may take a couple days after the signing of the agreement and a follow up phone call or opened case to have them add it.

For whatever reason, none of the software shows up in my account if I shop by browsing. If I search for the item number for the specific software, it will show up. I was never really bothered by it, I was still able to purchase CPS.

First off, before you can obtain any software, you not only have to set up an account but you must summit signed license agreements and have them in your file.

If you have all of that then you should be good to go.

To see what software that you can currently down load, open your MOL account, then highlite resource center, click on resource center, this will take you to a page that on the left side you click on the section you want.

Now, click on software, then click on two way, and it will list what is currently available to you. If there is nothing here, then you have never order any software.

In order to purchase new software, go to the top of page and highlite buying center, then click on search catalog, then if you know the part number of the software (HKN4123), enter that and it will allow you to 'order' and usually within a couple of hours you can find it over on the resource site and a CD will also be mailed to you.

You can also go to case management and summit a request for the part number, just tell them you are looking for the software for X radio, and also tell them you under stand that there is a PDF of the software matrex and request a copy.

Good luck
