No the number tag is another thing all together.. it is like a shortcut to a specific system and group in 1 step.. but it has to bet set up separately. My advice to you is not to even get involved with number tags until after to are used to system #s and group quick keys

These scanners are both a blessing and a curse. They do lots of things and there are a couple of different ways to accomplish the same result. To get the most from your scanner requires remembering lots of things, which is the curse part.

It's definitely a learning curve, but one that can be mastered with time, practice and patience.

As mentioned above, number tags are "optional" shortcuts. Programming number tags is not essential to making a scanner do its thing. (Out of the nearly 175 systems I have programmed in my scanner, I only have number tags set up on one system the rest are blank).

You guys have been great! After much playing with the software, I finally understand what you've been saying.
