Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello Everyone.

I recently acquired a number of Waris radios. HT1550xls (UHF and VHF) HT1250 (UHF) and CDM1250 (UHF).

I have the appropriate CPS for the radios and am learning how to use it. I am relatively new to programming Motorola radios. I think I've picked up quite a bit. I can program channels into zones and set up everything needed to transmit and receive. That's not the problem.

If anyone can point me to a step by step tutorial for programming LTR Trunking systems into my trunking capable radios. I would greatly appreciate it. Radioreference has been a fantastic wealth of knowledge for locating local radio system information. I joined this site and signed up for the paid subscription service to have the ability to program some of my radios with Chirp and RT Systems software.

I tried the search function but didn't have much luck. It's probably user error. I'm not that great with forum navigation.

Thank you everyone for any help that can be provided.
Don

The only one of those radios that will do LTR is the HT1550XLS. And unless the HT1250 is an HT1250Ls, it wont do LTR either.
Yes, the only LTR capable radios are the HT1550XLS UHF and VHF. I should have been clearer.

To program a radio for LTR trunking, you need the information from the owner of the system.

After posting that request for help, I found some information on here that made me realize that it is a bad idea to program any Trunking systems into my radios. I didn't realize that my radio could interfere with the system and possibly cause a safety risk to their users.

I'd like to delete the thread, but cannot figure out how.
