Motorola xpr 7550.... Now what?

hi, I'm new here and completely clueless.
I have a couple questions about a Motorola Radio I've acquired.
I recently hit a garage / estate sale and picked up a few things.
One of which is a Motorola XPR 7550 hand held radio. I power it on, it works but it looks to be from a business. I tried all the stations, no response.
Does anyone have any idea what I can do with this? reset it? sell it?
I have no idea.
I didn't realize i bought it, otherwise I wouldn't have. I have no use for it. I looked all over the web, and almost every search directed me to this site...

Sell it.

One radio on it's own won't do you any good. It requires a valid FCC license to work, there are no "license free" channels you can utilize this radio on.

It requires a programming cable and expensive software to program. Even with that, the programming is difficult unless you have a background in communications.

Even if you did get the software, these radios can be locked with a passcode. Without that passcode, you won't be able to do anything with it.

They are selling in the $700 range on e-Bay. Post it there and get your money back. Be clear that you know nothing about the radio and just picked it up at a garage sale.

mmckenna has excellent advice that I will second but add make sure you include the full model number (from the sticker on the back of the radio, under the battery) whenever you try to sell it as that will let potential buyers in the know determine if the radio is of use to them or not.

great advice, thank you all. I did some research on it, in regards to being stolen or whatever. I ran the numbers on the back of it. I think I will just sell it. I do just have this one radio and I have no use for it.
